Wings & Wheels for Family Fun When: September 14th, 2008 Where: Zelienople Airport --- NPCC is a sponsor along with EAA Pilots Time: 12:00 until 4:00 Rain or Shine Lunch will be served This event is an opportunity for all classic and sport car owners to assist in a day of fun for Make-a-Wish Foundation and Spina Bifida Foundation Children and their families. Here is how it works; Make-a-Wish and Spina Bifida invite their families to attend and manage the registration process. EAA local chapter 857 provides the private planes and pilots who volunteer their planes, time and fuel to show the children the important facts regarding flying and then proceed to take the kids for approximately a 30 minute plane ride. The car clubs involved will provide the entertainment while the children and their families wait for their turn to fly. We will line up the cars, the kids pick the car (usually by color) and we will provide an exhilarating but safe ride over a predetermined course. The course will be established using public roads so safety is an issue. Please be sure to use seat belts and have fun. All car clubs are invited to participate, so if you are associated with a car club or know of a car club, please extend an invitation to attend. This is not a corvette only event. Please mark your calendar for September 14th, 2008 to attend. This is not a car show, but a day of working to provide enjoyment to others. This event has been in existence since 1993 and continues to grow each year thanks to the generosity of the pilots and the car owners who take the time to be involved. It is always a great day, you may go home a little tired but you will be happy. Event sponsored by EAA Chapter 857 North Pittsburgh Corvette Club |
